Dear Lou...
Both my husband and I are from the Chicago area, specifically Lake Zurich and Mundelein, and grew up loving Lou's pizza, so you can imagine our disappointment when we moved to Alabama while my husband was in the Army and there was nothing even remotely close to a Chicago pizza pie anywhere in the South. That was in 2001 and for our birthday's my family would send us your heart shaped pies along with some regulars. When we decided to stay in AL my parents bought a house here and moved. This past Christmas was my parents first as permanent residents and my son's first Christmas as well. Knowing how much my father LOVES pizza and how missed he has been at his job, all of 'gals' at work sent us Lou's pies for Christmas. It was a long day of opening presents and going back and forth from our house to grandma and grandpa's so when all the gifts were open my husband and my father thought that nothing could top off a great Christmas like a great pie, so in the ove n it went. As always we loved our Lou to Go, and our newest addition to the family, our 10 month old son, enjoyed digging into the pizza just as much as his father and grandfather. It was the perfect end to the perfect Christmas and perfect beginning of a new family tradition... Lou Malnati's pizza for Christmas Day dinner!!! Thanks Lou for being such a generational icon and part of our family holiday!!!
