Where are you going…?

The last time you stopped to think about your life’s journey, where were you?  Have you met your goals and are comfortable with where the journey has taken you?  Or are you complacent and perfectly happy barely getting by?   Does your career give you the utmost satisfaction?  Do you continue to strive to be your best every day and expect more of yourself than others do of you?

You have choices and decisions to make on which paths to take during your journey.  You can stretch for the stars and be constantly motivated, or sit back and be constantly unfulfilled.  As you’re contemplating your journey, take time to stop and enjoy some pizza -- at least your taste buds will reach the level of ecstasy so many of us strive for.

Pizza Policy

President Obama has been in office for about three months now.  And we’ve liked what we’ve seen so far. He’s got a good foreign policy.   A solid economic plan.  But then we heard about his pizza policy., and it needs some definite work!  Just yesterday we learned the President was flying in a wannabe deep dish pizza aficionado from St. Louis to prepare pizza for 140 people at a White House dinner.  Everyone knows if you want the best deep dish pizza, you get it from Chicago!  And being the proud Chicagoan that he is, we were bewildered by the President’s sudden craving for St. Louis-style deep dish pizza, which from what we hear-get ready for this- has a cornmeal crust!  Since the news broke, it has seemed as though everyone wants our reaction, so here it is.  We don’t like it.  But, the way we see it, we’ve got 4 years to change this policy.

Tune in tomorrow morning, as Marc Malnati offers his reaction to the President’s choice on Good Morning America!

Are you singin “Go Cubs Go” or “Go Go White Sox”?
Baseball Season is officially underway!  This week the 2009 baseball season kicked off, although the temperature in the air didn’t quite match the occasion!  Sox fans were forced to wait an extra day for their season opener due to weather conditions, while the Cubs stayed warm down in Houston.  After a disappointing end to the 2008 season for both teams, and a long off season, this week some friendly (and some not so friendly!) rivalries between co-workers have fired up again in the Malnati headquarters.  But whether you are a Cubs, Sox, or even (GASP!) a Cardinals fan, it’s a brand new season and last year’s disappointments can be forgotten.  The cross-town rivalry between the Cubs and Sox is as true of a Chicago tradition as deep dish pizza.

So where does your allegiance fall? Good guys or the bad guys? (The Sox clearly being the bad guys!)

Menu Tastings

Lou Malnati’s is authentic, Chicago-style pizza, and most people come to Lou’s to satisfy their craving for our fresh gooey mozzarella cheese, sweet tangy tomatoes, and flaky buttery crust.  But we also want to offer great tasting items to go along with the pizza.  We have amazing salads with unique dressings, filling pastas, and a variety of wonderful appetizers.  Now we are looking to make some changes and additions to our menu.

We have invited some of our loyal customers who are enrolled in the Deep Dish Dough program to come out during a few nights in April to select restaurants and taste these new or improved items.   Once we have their feedback, we will decide if they are good enough to make the new menu, need some adjustments, or just don’t cut it.  But, our loyal fans will help us make this decision.

Stay tuned to see what new items make the cut.
