40th Annual Lou Malnati Cancer Research Benefit
It's hard to believe, but this year marks the 40th anniversary of the Lou Malnati Cancer Research Benefit! We are looking forward to another successful year of raising funds for cancer research and treatment programs. We will once again be hosting an evening of fun, food and comedy-- Chicago style!
The event will be taking place on September 20, 2010 at Lou Malnati's corporate office in Northbrook. The evening will be highlighted by a performance by The Second City featuring a surprise member of the Chicago Blackhawks. The evening will also include live and silent auctions, a raffle, and delicious food.
Last year, the annual event raised more than $160,000 for research and treatment programs at the Brain Tumor Institute of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Neuroblastoma research at Children's Memorial Hospital, and programs at Gilda's Club of Chicago. In addition to the funds raised, a side splitting performance was presented by the The Second City, along with Chicago Blackhawk Adam Burish.

Schaumburg Restaurant to be Renovated
Renovations have begun on the long-standing Lou Malnati's located at the southeast corner of Schaumburg and Roselle Roads in Schaumburg. The redevelopment is a joint project between the Village of Schaumburg and Lou Malnati's. The renovations will provide for a more practical and user friendly space, inluding seperate waiting areas for carry out and dine-in customers, improved parking accomodations, and a new kitchen. In addition, two handicapped-accessible restrooms will be added on the first floor and a handicapped accessible ramp from the parking lot. The improvements are expected to be finished by the end of the year. Regular business hours will be in effect and no closings will be required during the construction process.
